Michelle Giffoni-Albor
Sophomore, Trinity College of Arts & Sciences
Michelle Giffoni-Albor is a second-year student at Duke University studying Mathematics and Romance Studies. As an immigrant, learning a new language shaped her interest in translating across disciplines. She approaches mathematics not only as an analytical tool but as a language that can be visualized and reimagined through artistic expression. At Duke, she is involved in the Baldwin Scholars Program and Bass Connections, where she engages in interdisciplinary research examining gender representation in STEM. She is also developing creative projects that recreate multivariable functions through clay, exploring how geometric abstraction and language intersect. Michelle hopes to continue investigating recurring shapes and systems to expand more inclusive and interdisciplinary pathways in STEM.
