Laura Brinn

Laura Brinn has led strategic communications and engagement for the Office of the President at Duke University since 2023. Over the past 24 years, she has developed and executed communications and marketing strategies to advance Duke’s academic, research, and health care priorities.

She has held communications leadership roles in the Office of the Provost and the Office of Public Affairs and Government Relations and earlier served in public relations and marketing roles in the Fuqua School of Business and Duke University Health System. Laura began her career at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in New York City.

Laura and her colleagues have been recognized with multiple CASE Gold Circle Awards for excellence and innovation in research, medicine, and science writing; news writing; and COVID-related communications initiatives.

She earned an MBA and a master’s degree in liberal studies from Duke University and holds undergraduate degrees in communication and German from East Carolina University, which she attended with support from a University Scholars merit award. She also studied at the University of Mannheim in Germany as an undergraduate exchange student.
