Nazema Siddiqui

Dr. Nazema Siddiqui is an Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Duke University School of Medicine. As a clinician–scientist specializing in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, her career is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of pelvic floor and genitourinary disorders. She leads the Duke Urogenital Microbiome (Ur-BIOME) Research Program (https://obgyn.duke.edu/research/research-programs/ur-biome-duke-urogenital-microbiome-research-program) where her work focuses on how the urogenital microbiome contributes to recurrent urinary tract infections, overactive bladder, and other bladder conditions. Her NIH-funded research portfolio spans urinary microbiome science, innovative diagnostic strategies, and new approaches to enhancing pelvic and urinary health. She also serves as the Duke site Principal Investigator for the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network, an NIH-sponsored consortium conducting clinical trials related to pelvic floor conditions. In her clinical practice, Dr. Siddiqui provides comprehensive care for pelvic floor disorders, urinary incontinence, and genitourinary health concerns during midlife and menopause. Through both her investigative work and her patient-centered clinical practice, she is committed to advancing evidence-based care for women during midlife and aging. Dr. Siddiqui completed her fellowship in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Duke University School of Medicine where she also completed a Master of Health Sciences (Clinical Research). Prior to this, she completed her OB/GYN residency in Cleveland, Ohio at the MetroHealth/Cleveland Clinic combined program. She received her M.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
